The AV/Automation Engineer plays a critical role in the success of our Communications Department at Aotea Electric Southern Ltd. Key responsibilities include undertaking the installation and maintenance of AV/Automation related projects and customer services, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, quality control, and effective communication.

Main Objectives
  1. To collaborate closely with the AV /Automation Team Leader to ensure projects, maintenance, and future opportunities are carried out efficiently.
  2. To develop strong relationships with existing and new clients, identifying potential projects and opportunities.
  3. To foster professional connections with trades staff and contractors, both internal and external.
  4. To maintain a high standard of work, ensuring safety, effectiveness, and efficiency.
  5. To provide regular updates to the Communications Management Team and Supervisor on progress, milestones, risks, and opportunities.
Relationships

Reports to: Communications AV/Automation Team Leader – Aotea Electric Southern Ltd
Supervision of: Assigned electrical and non-electrical staff as required
Internal Relationships: CEO, Aotea Group Holdings Ltd, General Manager, All Other Aotea Electric Southern Ltd Management and Staff
External Relationships: Other Aotea companies, Clients/Customers, External Consultants, Inspectors, Suppliers, and Wholesalers

Key Tasks/Accountabilities
  • Accountability to AV/Automation Team Leader on project/maintenance performance
  • Adherence to Aotea Electric Southern Ltd policies and procedures
  • Effective supervision of allocated Staff and workloads
  • Regular reporting to AV/Automation Team Leader on project/maintenance and Staff performance
  • Material purchasing based on actual requirements
  • As-Built manuals completion as per contract documentation
  • Maintaining and enhancing customer relationships
  • New customer development
  • Collaboration with separate divisions in a team environment
  • Optimizing stock levels
  • Quality Control as required
  • Attendance at H&S Toolbox Meetings
  • Labor requirements management on current projects
  • Ongoing training of Communications Staff within Aotea Electric Southern Ltd
  • H&S, timesheets, and time keeping management for assigned Staff
  • Sourcing the best deals from suppliers and exploring alternative solutions for potential savings
