We are seeking an experienced Senior Permissions Treaty Advisor to join our team at the Department of Conservation Te Papa Atawhai (DOC). As a key member of our Permissions Team, you will provide expert advice to decision-makers to ensure we are giving effect to the principles of the Treaty of Waitangi.

The successful applicant will be responsible for providing advice to Permissions Advisors and decision-makers, contributing to the development of operational policy and best practices, and identifying training needs.

Key Requirements

  • Experience working with planning and/or legislative processes.
  • Experience working with relevant conservation legislation.
  • Experience analyzing large amounts of complex information to produce high-quality reports and succinct recommendations.
  • Experience and skill in managing a busy caseload.
