About the Opportunity: The Métis Nation of Ontario invites applications for a Mental Health System Coordinator position. This exciting role offers a chance to make a meaningful contribution to the mental health and wellbeing of Métis individuals, families, and communities.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Contribute to the development of mental health services for Métis individuals, families, and communities, ensuring seamless integration with existing healthcare systems.
  • Collaborate with Indigenous System Coordinators across Ontario to share best practices and coordinate efforts to enhance mental health services for Indigenous communities.
  • Develop and revise policies, processes, and procedures to ensure alignment with best practices and regulatory standards.
  • Act as a conduit for health system information, facilitating the flow of relevant data and insights to frontline Mental Health and Addiction (MHA) workers for informed decision-making.
  • Liaise with Ontario Health Teams to identify areas for improvement in service pathways, program participant/patient journeys, and coordination between MHA service providers serving Métis communities.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Experience with provincial/federal legislation/policies impacting Métis health and wellbeing.
  • Knowledge of Métis history, culture, and traditions.
  • Experience working with Indigenous individuals, families, and communities.
