**Job Description:**
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our close-knit team based in Aoraki Mount Cook National Park.
This role involves leading the maintenance and preservation of historic and visitor sites, structures, and equipment. You will be responsible for participating in health and safety culture, regional heritage and visitor work, and implementing monthly work plans.
As a key member of our team, you will have the opportunity to live and work in one of New Zealand's stunning national parks, enjoying breathtaking scenery while protecting important heritage sites.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Lead field-based operations and manage teams in the maintenance and preservation of historic and visitor sites.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of safety plans and participate in health and safety culture.
- Maintain conservation campsites, picnic areas, toilets, and water supplies.
- Construct and maintain tracks and structures to standard.
- Operate and oversee the use and maintenance of chainsaws, scrub-bars, backpack sprayers, diggers, and other minor earthwork machinery.
**Required Skills and Qualifications:**
- A strong practical approach to problems with excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
- A full New Zealand driver license class 1 and chainsaw competency at the minimum level of NZQA 17766.
- Proven building and construction skills, computer literacy, and technology savvy.
