About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Advanced Practice Nurse to join our dynamic team in the Emergency Department at Wellington Regional Hospital.

As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will work independently and collaboratively to provide comprehensive care for patients with a wide range of illnesses or injuries.

You will work closely with our multidisciplinary team to develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans, improve patient outcomes, and enhance the quality of care provided.

This is an exciting opportunity to join our highly motivated and professional team and contribute to providing high-quality acute and emergent care to patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing advanced, comprehensive care for patients in the emergency setting.
  • Performing assessments, diagnosing illnesses, and developing treatment plans in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams as applicable.
  • Collaborating with physicians, nurses, and support staff to manage patient flow efficiently.
  • Ensuring the highest level of care and safety for all patients.
  • Utilising advanced clinical judgment and critical thinking to make informed, timely decisions.

About You

We are looking for a recognised advanced practice nurse with a passion for ongoing learning and development. The successful applicant will have proven advanced emergency nursing expertise and additional knowledge, attributes, and experience ideal for this position include:

  • Experience in emergency nursing (Minimum 3-4 years) or related practice area.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the NZ health system and the district environment.
  • Experience in leadership, management, and coaching.
  • Proficiency in advanced nursing procedures.
