Strategic Advisor to CEO and Senior Leadership
3 days ago
About INSIDE Recruitment, we're on the hunt for an exceptional professional to fill the role of Strategic Advisor to CEO and Senior Leadership. Based in New Zealand, this is a unique opportunity to work alongside senior executives and provide strategic advice to the Chief Executive (CE) and Leadership Team.
XRB, our client, is an independent Crown entity responsible for developing and issuing accounting, auditing, assurance, and climate reporting standards. Their vision is that New Zealand prospers through effective decision-making informed by high-quality, credible, and integrated reporting.
In this role, you'll be working closely with the CE to help carry out their responsibilities efficiently and effectively. You'll manage workflows, anticipate challenges, and offer proactive recommendations across your remit. A key aspect of the job is supporting governance processes, including agenda and minute preparation and managing nominations and appointments.
You'll oversee the CE's calendar and ensure seamless communication across the Leadership Team, the XRB Board, and the wider XRB team. Strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders are essential, including the Minister's office and Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment.
This role requires a strong communicator who can balance providing high-level strategic advice with hands-on operational responsibilities. Excellent organisational skills and flexibility are a must.
You may come from either a private or public sector background, ideally bringing a good understanding of the public sector. You'll excel in a small, close-knit team environment that fosters a supportive culture and be willing to take a hands-on approach when necessary.
The successful candidate will have:
- Proven experience building relationships and influencing senior stakeholders, including Boards and leadership teams.
- High-quality written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence outcomes and provide effective advice.
- Sound judgment and strong analytical skills with an eye for detail.
- The ability to prioritise and manage workloads for senior leaders.
- Experience in a role that blends strategic advice with operational support.
- Understanding of the public sector and relevant stakeholders, with the acumen to navigate complex processes.
We estimate the salary for this role to be around $150,000 - $180,000 per annum, depending on experience. This is a great opportunity to join a dynamic team and make a real impact in the world of corporate governance.
