ASB Bank is a leading provider of financial services in New Zealand, committed to protecting its customers from financial crime. Our Financial Crime Operations team plays a critical role in achieving this goal.

In this position, you will work collaboratively with the Manager FCO Office - Risk & Governance to drive operational excellence, ensuring timely and effective decision-making with stakeholders.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Coordinating the Financial Crime Operations Committee (FCOC), including preparing meeting packs and minutes to promote continuous improvement.
  • Developing high-quality written documents and reports to ensure consistent, timely, and accurate messaging across relevant forums.
  • Supporting the development, analysis, and delivery of insightful operational, risk, and remediation reporting to enable timely and effective decision-making with stakeholders.
  • Aiding the implementation of best practice tools and techniques to deliver timely insights, improve accuracy, and increase efficiency.
  • Assisting FCO in understanding and effectively managing relevant compliance obligations, along with regulatory changes.
  • Providing operational risk management support in collaboration with the Line 1 Risk team across areas like RMD, risk assessments, RIC, issues, and incidents.
  • Contributing to the development and execution of an effective communication strategy.
  • Offering business management support for key FCO initiatives and activities.

Required skills include:

  • An understanding of compliance/operational risk frameworks and their effective application in an operational context. Familiarity with relevant laws and regulations, such as AML/CFT & Sanctions, CoFI.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A high level of accuracy and ability to interpret information, drawing meaningful insights.
  • A high attention to detail and strong time management skills.
