About the Business Development Team

The Business Development team at VALD serves as the front line for the company. As part of a truly global team, they attend conferences and conduct product demonstrations (both in-person and teleconferences) in clinical, performance, and tactical settings.

Key responsibilities include setting up and overseeing product trials, nurturing new leads, and identifying opportunities for VALD expansion.

The role requires an education-based approach to sales, where Business Development Managers must have an intimate knowledge of VALD's systems.

Utilizing industry expertise and product knowledge, they leverage their understanding to demonstrate how VALD's clients can maximize their systems' value to their business.

  • Prior experience working in a clinical or allied health setting is highly valued.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential for effective collaboration via various mediums, including team calls, in-person interactions, and sales pipeline reporting.
  • Candidates should be comfortable targeting new clients and willing to travel for client meetings to represent VALD at industry conferences and events.
  • They must also be confident in persuasively demonstrating VALD systems and communicating product and industry knowledge to clients.
  • A self-starter mentality is crucial, holding themselves accountable for reaching sales targets.
  • Nurturing existing distributor relationships is also a vital aspect of this role.
  • Prior experience using CRMs and the Microsoft Office 365 suite of products is beneficial.
  • Locality in Wellington is a prerequisite.
