Business Development Leader

We are seeking a highly skilled Business Development Leader to join our team at Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group (MUFG). The successful candidate will be responsible for leading one of our three key sector coverage teams, reporting to the Head of Global Corporate and Investment Banking (GCIB) NZ.
The role involves managing a portfolio of existing clients based in New Zealand, originating and executing transaction opportunities, and coordinating the onboarding of new clients within target sectors. You will collaborate with product partners, internal stakeholders, and colleagues within the broader MUFG global network to ensure optimal client coverage.
As a Business Development Leader, your key responsibilities will include:
- Developing a successful NZ business plan that drives revenue growth and meets customer objectives, working closely with the Head of GCIB NZ.
- Understanding the competitive landscape and identifying opportunities for growth as well as risks.
- Leveraging expertise to promote products to customers and identify cross-selling opportunities.
- Serving as the day-to-day point of contact for all client needs across a portfolio of existing clients.
- Assisting and supporting the execution of value-added solutions involving event financing, loans, bonds, project financing, advisory, transaction banking, and global markets flow products.
- Fostering relationships with key customers to develop new business and deliver extraordinary customer experiences, supported by a high-performing team.
