Job Description

This role involves:

  • ">
  • Liaising with tertiary institutions and schools to ensure students are placed in relevant programs that align with Tokelau's development priorities and students' interests">
  • Providing academic guidance and support to students, including advice on course planning, degree or program requirements">
  • Supporting students with registration, enrolments, career advice, and counselling">
  • Providing pastoral care to scholarship recipients and undertaking liaison visits to build connections with students and their program leaders">
  • Coodinating and facilitating communications and working relationships between students and learning support services within institutions to ensure students access the necessary resources">

Requirements

">

To be successful in this role, applicants must have a university degree and a full New Zealand driver's license. Essential skills and knowledge include:

  • ">
  • Strong understanding of New Zealand's tertiary education system and NZQA policies and practices">
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, educators, and other stakeholders">
  • Demonstrable career counselling skills and experience">
  • Familiarity with current issues in NZ education and Tokelau's national and education strategic direction">

Working Conditions

">

This role involves extensive travel throughout New Zealand, including regular trips to institutions of study. The successful applicant is expected to be physically able to undertake required travel and available to work in the evenings during the week as required.
