Government Liaison Officer

As a Government Liaison Officer in the Department of Internal Affairs, you will have the opportunity to work closely with Minister Jones and his team. This role involves providing administrative support to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the office.
The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating the Minister's diary, planning and booking travel, and drafting and responding to Official Information Act Requests. They will also assist with written and oral Parliamentary questions, as well as support with Ministerial correspondence.
In this role, you will be the 'face of the office' greeting visitors, helping to respond to queries via email and over the phone, and providing critical support to keep things running smoothly. You may also be required to provide cover for the Senior Private Secretary, leading the wider office in delivering an unrivalled service.
This is an events-based position based on the current parliamentary term, offering a unique insight into the inner workings of government in a fast-paced environment.
To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate experience in an Executive Assistant or administration role, with highly developed interpersonal skills and the ability to gain the confidence of the Minister and a diverse range of stakeholders.
