About Us
The Waitemata District Health Board has an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled Children's Community Nurse Specialist to join our team. We are committed to providing excellent healthcare services to the people of New Zealand, with a focus on whanau-centred care and cultural safety.

The Role
As a Children's Community Nurse Specialist, you will be part of a multidisciplinary team that provides advanced nursing practice within an interdisciplinary model to promote safety, independence and self-care for whanau who have complex health needs in the home. You will be visiting tamariki and whanau in their homes to provide specialist nursing care, including acute/chronic/complex medical cares, neonatal care and wound management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide specialist nursing care to tamariki and whanau in their homes, using a case management model
  • Work autonomously in the community, advocating, consulting and collaborating with other healthcare professionals as needed
  • Maintain accurate records and communicate effectively with other members of the healthcare team

About You
To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

Requirements

  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in paediatric nursing, preferably in a NZ Healthcare setting
  • A PG Diploma in a specialty nursing practice, or working towards this qualification
  • A current APC and NZ drivers' licence
