We are seeking a Professional Experience Manager to lead and oversee the professional experience components across our college programmes.As the Professional Experience Manager, you will play a crucial role in shaping the practical learning experiences of our students.
You will ensure that professional placements align with the Teaching Council of Aotearoa New Zealand and other relevant registration bodies while fostering strong relationships with education providers, mentors, Associate Teachers and stakeholders.Whilst primarily WFH, there will be occasional travel requirements where required.Key Responsibilities IncludeLead the design, structure, and delivery of professional experiences across NZTC programmes.Ensure all practicum placements meet sector and regulatory requirements, while maintaining best practice.Provide mentoring and support for lecturers involved in professional experiences.Liaise with monitors, panels, and registration bodies regarding practicum experiences.Conduct student visits, support, and assessments during placements.Engage in research and continuous improvement in professional experiences.Write and maintain course guides for practicum across multiple programmes.Key RequirementsCurrent fully registered, qualified teacher.Hold an appropriate qualification at a minimum of a master's level degree in education, preferably in early childhood teacher education.At least five years' experience in teacher education and professional placements.Knowledge of and a passion for increasing quality teacher education through practicum experiences in Aotearoa New Zealand.Strong knowledge of educational regulations and professional teaching standards in New Zealand.Excellent leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills.A passion for enhancing student learning experiences through real-world practice.Flexible and open to occasional travel (nation-wide but mostly Auckland).We are open to considering candidates from anywhere in New Zealand, however there is a strong preference for Auckland based candidates.About UsNew Zealand Tertiary College (NZTC) provides high quality education to early childhood and healthcare students in New Zealand and around the world.
