Join to apply for the Waitemata Training Specialist role at DB BreweriesFunction: Supply ChainType of Contract: Full-time PermanentAs our Waitemata Training Specialist, you will play a pivotal dual role in driving Quality Management and leading the PD Pillar to strengthen training and development at DBW.
You'll ensure compliance with HEINEKEN and NZ Food Safety standards, maintain key certifications (ISO 9001:2008, FSSC22000), and lead food safety and quality initiatives, including audits, training, and shopfloor engagement.
You will also be responsible for developing and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to support best practices.
By connecting with the Global Quality team and spearheading improvement activities, you'll help the brewery achieve its FTR Micro targets and foster operational excellence across the site.Key Accountabilities:Maintain and support the Brewery Quality Management and Food Safety Risk Management systems, ensuring compliance with HEINEKEN/NZ Food Safety standards and DB's quality policies.Lead and facilitate monthly Food Safety and Quality meetings, internal/external audits, and ensure timely closure of non-conformances.Drive improvement activities as the lead for FTR Micro (site P1) and PQ Pillar, achieving brewery targets and aligning with global best practices.Launch and lead the People and Development (PD) Pillar, identifying competency gaps through Smart Skills and CAD tools, and creating training plans to address operational skill gaps.Develop and manage training plans for new starters (operators, engineers, team leaders) and maintain a robust training matrix at the operational level.Write, update, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to support safety compliance, process improvements, and the DB Waitemata Safety Turnaround programme in Packaging.Oversee the training budget for Waitemata Brewery and support the management of the OpCo training budget, ensuring effective allocation and utilisation.What you will bring with you:3+ years of experience in Learning & Development, with a focus on training facilitation, needs analysis, and training design.Strong background in manufacturing, ideally FMCG, and knowledge of apprenticeship programmes and the NZ qualification system.Proven expertise in technical SOP writing, training project management, and delivering continuous improvement initiatives.A change agile mindset with a passion for driving results through people development.Flexibility to work across DB sites and engage with teams to deliver tailored learning solutions.Ready to take the lead?
