Research and Development Project Manager

Ocellus is a multi-disciplinary medical device start-up developing a revolutionary technological and scientific platform in the field of automated eye tracking and diagnosis of neurological disorders.

Overview:

We are seeking a dynamic and highly motivated individual, experienced in software programming and project management to join our team and lead multiple aspects of product development. You will play a key role in developing Ocellus’ technology, utilizing your project management skills to oversee and integrate hardware, software, web-based services, mechanical and optical modules.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the creation, development, and deployment of software applications, APIs and services, following architectural and development standards and best practices.
  • Define and communicate technical requirements based on user needs and risk-based considerations.
  • Oversee and prioritize task completion in multiple disciplines to ensure company milestones and goals are successfully met.
  • Analyze field feedback and user experience to navigate the development process according to user and technical needs.
  • Software development of features and product enhancements in the field of eye tracking, including competencies in the use of statistical packages in Python related to eye tracking analysis algorithms.
  • Provide structured and detailed documentation of the development process.
  • Adhere to quality and regulatory requirements (ISO 13485 and FDA) during all activities.
  • Collaborate with the scientific and clinical teams to explore further innovation and implement new applications.
  • Assist with testing strategies, including contributing to automated testing frameworks, to maintain product reliability and compliance.

Key Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, technology or a related discipline.
  • 5+ years of experience in multi-disciplinary companies – preferably in the medical device field.
  • Experience managing a team of software engineers or similar role.
  • High proficiency in React, with experience in C++ and Python.
  • Experience in API integration & development.
  • Experience building cloud-based solutions.
  • Good knowledge of project management tools.
