Camshaft Software is an independent studio based in Wellington, New Zealand, built around a small core team of games professionals and car enthusiasts, collaborating with a variety of talent from the vibrant games development scene in the ANZ region. We are looking for a Software Quality Assurance Tester to join our team. Working on improving our main product, Automation - The Car Company Tycoon Game.
Your daily tasks:

Conduct thorough testing of game features and functions to identify bugs and glitches.
Create and execute detailed test plans and test cases.
Accurately document and report identified bugs using our bug tracking system.
Verify fixes and track the resolution of reported bugs.
Ensure the game meets industry standards and best practices.

You will work closely with other developers to troubleshoot and resolve issues. You will also participate in design and development meetings, providing valuable feedback to improve game quality. Your skills will include effective communication with the team to ensure a smooth workflow and timely issue resolution.
Skills and knowledge: â Attention to detail: Exhibit meticulous attention to detail in identifying and documenting bugs. Maintain a thorough and systematic approach to testing.
â Problem solving: Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills in troubleshooting issues. Proactively suggest improvements to enhance game quality.
â Communication: Maintain clear and effective communication with team members. Provide timely updates on testing progress and issues encountered.â Knowledge of Unreal, Postman, Gitlab, Jira and Confluence
Highly Desirable:
â Passion for Automotive and Motorsport:

Demonstrates a keen interest in cars, ranging from classic models to cutting- edge automotive technology/
Follows motorsport events such as Formula 1, Rally, or endurance racing.
Owns and modifies cars, demonstrating hands-on experience and technical knowledge.

Enthusiast of Automotive Gaming:

Experience with car-related video games, particularly:i. Automation: The Car Company Tycoon Game.
Familiar with designing and engineering virtual vehicles.
Understands the intricacies of balancing performance, cost,and market appeal in car design ii. BeamNG.drive.
Proficient in this vehicle simulation game known for its realistic soft-body physics.
Appreciates the detailed damage modeling and drivingdynamics.
Ability to apply insights from these games to real-worldautomotive concepts and challenges.
Enthusiasm for other racing or car-related games is a plus.
