Forensics Investigator

**The Opportunity**:
We are seeking a full time Investigator for our Food Forensics team based at our Wellington Laboratory. The food forensics team work closely with our customers to help solve mysteries and ensure the safety, quality and reputation of their products.

This is a fast paced, exciting role that is responsible for the investigation of foreign matter, which is done through visual examinations and basic identification testing. The role is a full time, permanent role working 40 hours a week from Monday through to Friday.

**About you**:
This is the perfect role for someone with a natural science qualification that includes a strong foundation in chemistry or forensic science. This is a great role for someone who is looking to start their professional career or looking for new challenges. It would be preferable if you have experience in a commercial laboratory environment in such areas as sample receipt and management. Previous customer service experience will also come in handy in this role.

You would need excellent manual dexterity and be comfortable handling small samples under a microscope; you will also be well organised and methodical in your work habits. On the technical front, experience with analysis and data interpretation for FTIR and SEM-EDX, and preparing written laboratory reports would be highly advantageous.

You thrive on providing quality service to both internal and external customers and have the ability to communicate clearly (both written and verbally). You are a motivated fast learner, have an excellent eye for detail. Being a team player and having a positive attitude are essential in this role.
