**The opportunity**:
Are you an experienced laboratory analyst looking to take the next step to be a Key Technical Person (KTP) responsible for ensuring test results meet our high quality standards and are suitable to be reported to customers? If so, then this role of Scientific Analyst is for you.
Our team at Specialty Testing undertake sophisticated analysis of veterinary medicines, pesticides, and environmental contaminants in a wide variety of food and environmental samples. We currently have two vacancies for Scientific Analysts to join our Science and Innovation Team on a permanent basis.
As a Scientific Analyst in the team, you will be providing top quality analytical results to our customers by building on your experience as a senior laboratory analyst. These two opportunities will be focused on pesticide residue analysis with later opportunity to expand your scope into veterinary medicines and environmental contaminants. Our pesticide residue tests are complex and data-intensive so strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills along with the ability to process and distil large volumes of data into useful information are essential skills for these roles. You will also be very comfortable with chromatographic data processing software and Excel spreadsheets for handling large data sets. Experience operating both GC-MS/MS and LC-MS/MS instrument will be an advantage.

**About you**:
Please be aware there are 2 roles available, working 40 hours a week. Both roles will have a Tuesday - Saturday roster.
Your previous experience and leadership in a commercial laboratory setting will provide the springboard to success in this agile and exciting role.
Factors for success in this position include
- Bachelor's degree in chemistry or related science with a minimum of 2 years' experience in a commercial analytical chemistry laboratory OR Diploma in Laboratory Science with a minimum of 3 years' experience in a commercial analytical chemistry laboratory.
- Proven success in processing, interpreting and critically assessing chromatographic data.
- Experience in daily operations of one or more GC-MS, GC-MS/MS HPLC-UV or LC-MS/MS for quantitative analysis of small molecules.
- The ability to efficiently coordinate tasks and deliver work with a high degree of rigor and accuracy.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and a strong drive for results.
- Previous KTP experience is a definite advantage.
