**He aha te mahi? What’s the role?**:
This is a key management position in the Financial Planning team and is critical to the successful management of the Grower Payments function. Reporting to the Head of Financial Planning and Analysis, the Grower Payments Manager will lead a team of Analysts responsible for the forecasting, reporting and payments of NZ grower payments. Continuous improvement of associated forecasting, financial models and reporting tools is a key component of this role.

Broadly, the team is responsible for producing, reporting, analysing and updating all aspects of the New Zealand supply grower payments forecast. This includes fruit payments, incentives and service costs. The team also supports other commercial initiatives such as pooling analysis. The team is responsible for paying grower payments when they fall due.

This role requires the Grower Payments Manager to build strong relationships with the business to understand and produce meaningful analysis. Challenging key assumptions, introducing new perspectives and ultimately lifting the quality of the decision making is critical to the success of this role.
- Delivery of Grower payments forecasting on time, with key changes between forecasts understood.
- Lead Grower Payments function ensuring all payments are made to the industry accurately and on time.
- Ensure the wider team has adequate cover for grower payment forecasting and actual payments including well documented processes.
- Leading, developing and mentoring a team of Analysts in the grower payments function.
- Own and manage the creation, maintenance, improvement and reporting of various financial models.
- Manage financial analysis and metrics in industry publications such as Kiwiflier, grower payments booklets and Supplier information packs.
- Foster a collaborative, team-oriented attitude with the ability to lead, delegate, coach and effectively motivate the team.
- Be a key contact point for ad hoc financial queries from the industry.
- An ability to establish strong relationships with staff and industry representatives while building wide and effective networks of contacts inside and outside the organization.
- Ability to make rational judgements from the available information by analysing numerical and verbal data from a number of sources.

You will meet the following selection criteria:

- Tertiary qualification in business, accounting or finance.
- CAANZ qualified or similar finance qualification is desirable.
- 5+ years relevant experience in a similar role within a commercial organisation.
- Advanced Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills.
- Experience with accounting software packages and forecasting tools.
- Experience managing teams.
- Extremely results oriented with a strong focus on quality and meeting customer needs through analysis and reporting.
- Strong numerical, problem solving and analytical skills with an ability to identify the big picture and drive down to details to achieve outcomes.
- Demonstrated high level of skill in both verbal and written communication, with the ability to identify and clearly articulate issues.
- Ability to plan activities and projects well in advance taking into account resources required, changing circumstances and deadlines to be met.
