**He aha te mahi? What's the role?**:
The Certification Advisor assists the Industry Assurance Programmes Manager and team to maintain and develop the Zespri G.A.P. (Good Agricultural Practice) system, to ensure it continues to meet customers’ and Zespri’s requirements. In particular, you will be responsible for the day to day management of the system, ensuring that documentation is completed and published in a timely manner, growers enquiries are answered and certification details and records are complete, correct and readily available when required.
Your key accountabilities will be:
- Support the day to day operation of the Zespri G.A.P., Organic and other related programmes.
- Respond to growers and post-harvest queries and provide accurate and timely information related to the Global G.A.P. and Organic Certification Programmes.
- Assist with the development and delivery of G.A.P. related training programmes for G.A.P. inspectors, G.A.P. system owners and postharvest managers.
- Review and develop quality systems documentation for the Global G.A.P. and Organic certification programmes.
- Co-ordinate and oversee the internal audit and consistency programme for Global G.A.P. and Organic Certification programmes.
- Participate in and follow up on external audits for the Global G.A.P. and Organic Certification programmes.
- Operational execution and administrative tasks, including ensuring best practice record keeping and documentation.

- A tertiary qualification in Horticulture, Food or Science related disciplines, or relevant experience is desirable.
- Exposure to and good understanding of primary production, preferably the kiwifruit industry.
- Understanding of Good Agricultural Practice, the Global G.A.P. Standard and the principles of ethical and social responsibility.
- Experience in working with international standards and managing systems in a certification environment.
- Understanding of auditing principals and certification systems.
- Highly developed computer skills (e.g. Word, Excel, SAP).
