**He aha te mahi? What's the role?**:
Our Global Public Affairs and Communications team plays a pivotal role in supporting and engaging our stakeholders, including growers and industry representatives. This includes providing growers with timely, transparent information in order to support the running of their businesses and doing it in a way which is relevant and engaging and works for the industry. This includes written and other forms of digital content.

Reporting to the Communications Manager, the Content Specialist role is to further strengthen our industry communications. The role will include responsibility for developing content for our primary industry communications channel - Canopy (Zespri’s industry extranet platform) - working closely with teams across the organisation to ensure growers are receiving the information they need to make decisions for their business. The Content Specialist will draft key news updates, review content (including technical guidance) lodged through a JIRA ticketing system and ensure all materials on Canopy are helpful for growers and maintain a consistent tone and style. The Content Specialist will also work with the Communications Lead - Canopy to develop other engaging forms of digital content including short videos and podcasts, and contribute to the wider development of key industry communications materials.

Key Accountabilities Include;
- Supporting the development and delivery of engaging content for the Zespri Canopy (grower extranet) website
- Drafting key industry news updates and helping develop relevant and easy to understand industry communications materials
- Proactively engaging internal stakeholders and content owners to ensure that content is accurate, relevant, and up to date
- Supporting the development of industry publications including Kiwiflier, grower roadshow presentations and the Zespri Annual Report

You’ll be a positive, supportive team player with strong initiative and plenty of enthusiasm. You understand the role communications plays in the success of an organisation and how it can add real value. You will also meet the following selection criteria:

- Experience working across digital content channels and in digital content creation
- Proficient writing and proof-reading ability, with experience writing communications in a business environment an advantage
- Minimum two-years’ experience using and managing content management systems to publish web content in a business environment
- Strong track record of working to deadlines and delivering to a high standard
- Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills
- Strong appreciation of how to develop concise and compelling digital content that engages people externally
- Horticultural awareness and affinity with growers are an advantage
