**About us**:
Genesis recently announced our new Gen35 strategy as we look to accelerate New Zealand's transition to a low-carbon future. **About the role**:
Be at the heart of key decisions that shape our assets' future as the Asset Strategy Engineering where you will create and manage asset management plans for generation assets, delivering strategic investment opportunities. You will review and refine Equipment Asset Management Plans, focusing on asset health, criticality, condition, and lifecycle milestones.

As an expert in asset lifecycle management, you will develop and implement strategies to ensure assets meet business objectives, working closely with internal teams and external providers. Key responsibilities include leading feasibility studies, promoting design improvements, and integrating new assets through scope development, risk assessment, and budget planning.

You will provide engineering support for cost-benefit analyses and project justifications, collaborate with key stakeholders, and lead refurbishment or replacement strategies by identifying asset enhancements and new technologies to support investment decisions.

**About you**:

- Engineering degree and/or relevant industry qualification
- Experience in asset management within heavy industry
- Exposure to the generation industry, particularly hydro and thermal generation
- Awareness of ISO 55000 series

This role is based primarily in Hamilton, with occasional short-term travel to other sites. Flexibility to travel is required.
