**Mō te tūranga | About the role**

The flood protection infrastructure we manage protect communities across the region, and its our job to replace / rebuild the stopbanks, pumpstation, and floodgates that aren’t performing effectively anymore.

Using the councils project management framework, we want you to manage works from conception through to completion ensuring we are building sustainable assets. While the assets are simple, the complexity comes from stakeholder management - our communities are directly paying for the works, so are very interested in getting value for money.

- Develop scopes and project management plans.
- Provide the oversite and management of civil, mechanical, and electrical projects.
- Provide engineering advice to ensure designs, tenders, and specifications are correct.
- Report into the Project control groups on progress, and ensure stakeholders are engaged with appropriately.

**Mō te tangata | About you**
- We are looking for someone with a pragmatic personality, who knows how to start work & likes to see it through to completion.
- Complex engineering calculations are not part of the job. But being able to ask the right questions & knowing when to bring in others to enable you to collate and coordinate your work programme is important.
- If you are looking for your 2 nd or 3 rd job, with the ability to manage your own projects, while still getting some mentoring, then this is the role for you.
- Have knowledge of Prince2 or PMI project management processes or be working or have completed your qualification in this area.

**Mō ngā pūkenga | Qualifications and experience**
- We are looking for someone with either a mechanical or civil engineering qualification.
- A minimum of 5 years engineering experience and or 3 years capital project management experience is preferable.

**Mō te tīma | About the team**

We are a small team of engineers, working to deliver capital projects across the Taupo, Hauraki, Coromandel, and Waikato areas. You will work alongside a team diverse in backgrounds and roles including the reliability engineer, maintenance planner, and operational teams.

**Mō mātou | About us**
- We work hard to care for the mighty Waikato, so current and future generations will benefit from a healthy environment, strong economy, and vibrant communities.
- Our mahi is as diverse as the region we care for and the people who share it. Our work helps look after our region's water, soil, air, geothermal areas and coasts - so we can all enjoy these precious resources for generations to come.
- Customers sit at the heart of everything we do, and all staff have an important role to play in the delivery of exceptional customer service.
