- As our Machine Safety Engineer, you will be dedicated to ensuring the safety and compliance of machinery and equipment used across COO. They play a key role in designing, implementing, and maintaining safety measures to prevent accidents and injuries, thereby enhancing the overall safety culture within engineering.Key accountabilities include:
Safety Compliance:
- Provide expert guidance on machine safety standards and best practices
- Ensure all machinery complies with organisational safety policies, local and international safety standards.
- Keep abreast of changes in safety regulations and implement necessary updates.
- Risk Assessment:
- Conduct comprehensive safety assessments of machinery and equipment to identify hazards and recommend measures to mitigate risks.
- Safety Systems Design:
- Advise on the design and implementation of safety control systems for machinery.
- Review and approve safety-related machine modifications.
- Training & Awareness:
- Provide technical support and training to engineering and operations teams on machine safety practices and procedures.
- Incident Investigation:
- Support the investigation of safety incidents related to machinery, analysing root causes and recommending corrective actions.

- You have a strong background in mechanical or electrical engineering, with a specialization in machine safety. Your experience includes working with safety standards, conducting risk assessments, and designing safety systems. You are proficient in using safety-related engineering software and tools, enabling you to ensure the highest levels of safety and compliance in your work.
