- **You will be part of a small, collaborative team**

**About the team**

The Asset Management team at WEL is increasing our skill sets to address the decarbonisation challenge facing NZ. We have been recognised by our peers at the EEA conference with the People's Choice paper for our work associated with Distributed Energy Resources (DER) management and our journey of transition to a true DSO. Because of our investment in metering, and our work around DER and DSO, we have access to tools and information not available elsewhere in New Zealand. With this, and our investment in additional skill sets, you will be joining a team that will set a new standard for asset management within New Zealand.

**About the role**

As a Lifecyle Engineer you will have asset ownership of the key asset class substation equipment for our network. You will be responsible for ensuring the optimal balance between asset lifecycle cost and network reliability. This will include development of asset strategy, maintenance plans, a digital twin and CBRM analysis, review of network data, setting maintenance standards and investigation of failures.

**About you**

Along with a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering (or an equivalent qualification) we are looking for someone who brings us:

- A minimum of three years’ experience in a substation environment working on long life assets
- A collaborative approach to problem solving and sharing knowledge

**Best-in-class benefits**

At WEL, we look after our people, and you’ll benefit from a powerful package of benefits:

- Medical, life and income protection insurance
- Flexible working options - work from home up to two days per week, ability to purchase additional annual leave, 9-day fortnight, and much more
- Relocation costs, and
- An excellent salary package, including annual salary reviews

We are committed to making sure our people go home safe every day, and with a drug and alcohol-free worksite we will require you to undertake testing as part of your pre-employment health assessment as well as participating in our annual health assessment programme.

**About WEL Networks**

WEL Networks is unique. We’ve been serving the Waikato for over 100 years, distributing electricity from the national grid so we can power over 100,000 homes and businesses.

With around 320 employees, we’re proudly based in Hamilton and are owned by the community we work for.
