The National Infrastructure Unit (NIU) and the Housing and Urban Growth (HUG) team provide fiscal and economic advice on urban growth and infrastructure priorities (projects and programmes), housing policy and delivery. As part of this we get involved in and provide advice on sector issues such as climate change mitigation and adaptation and the reforms to the Resource Management Act.
**Kōrero mō te tūranga | About the Roles**

We have opportunities for highly skilled **Analysts** to join the National Infrastructure Unit (NIU) and the Housing and Urban Growth (HUG) team. We have permanent and potentially fixed term roles. The roles would suit Analysts with expertise in commerce, economics, public policy or public law with experience in public policy processes. The particular role can be tailored to suit your skills and experiences. An understanding of, or experience, in the infrastructure, urban growth or housing sectors would be desirable but not essential.

Key responsibilities in these roles include:

- advice on significant policy, regulatory and investment proposals considered by Ministers and Cabinet
- assisting with wellbeing and value for money assessments
- input into the Budget and other fiscal and economic processes and
- input into sectorial strategic policy

To be successful in this role, you will bring with you:

- Great relationship managements skills with the ability to influence both internally and externally
- A proven ability to convey information to a diverse audience including Ministers
A strong analytical ability with a talent for bringing together diverse perspectives
- 2-3 years analytical experience with an excellent post graduate level tertiary qualification
