We are looking for an experienced Senior ICT Procurement and Commercial Specialist to manage high-value, strategic commercial agreements for a complex and evolving modern ICT environment. This is an exciting time to be joining our team with a number of high priority projects and programmes kicking off which you will have the chance to be involved in:

- The Defence Information Management Programme (delivering robust information management policies and solutions, and data analytics across the organisation);
- Future ERP Programme (transforming NZDF's current ERP system and ways of working to modernise our business); and
- Defence Information Platform Programme (delivering a number of foundational technology solutions to support the business including: connectivity, public cloud, and modern desktop and devices).

As a senior member of our team, you will work on enterprise, strategic, or tactical level ICT requirements to support ICT solutions Defence-wide. This includes support for secure IT environments, deployable equipment and connectivity, end-user computing, and much more You will also provide mentoring support and leadership to more junior team members through the Defence Leadership Development framework.

**You will be**:

- Delivering strategic and commercial advice to your customers through the procurement lifecycle (plan, source, manage) within the portfolio stream;
- Developing and actively managing strong and effective working relationships with key stakeholders;
- Managing complex procurement activities, as well as providing mentorship, advice and support to colleagues;
- Contributing to the overall capability and effectiveness of the NZDF procurement and commercial function.

This role is part of Defence Commercial Services' ICT Procurement Practice, which procures ICT related goods and services on behalf of NZDF. The Practice primarily supports Defence Digital Group (DDG) but addresses all of NZDF's ICT supplier sourced requirements.

**Please note**: You can choose to work primarily from Trentham, Petone or Wellington CBD. You will need to have flexibility to work from these sites from time to time as required. Once you are trained and established in the role you will have the option to establish a flexible working arrangement including working from home up to two days a week.

You will be experienced in the management and delivery of a variety of procurement and commercial activities at a senior level. You will be passionate and knowledgeable with your key focus on exceptional customer delivery.

**You will also bring**:

- Technical proficiency and experience in all aspects of the end-to-end procurement lifecycle, especially tendering;
- An ability to engage effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, influence, and negotiate outcomes as a trusted advisor;
- Demonstrable experience in critical and strategic thinking, and able to deal well under pressure;
- Agility and flexibility to adapt to a broad range of procurement categories and take ownership of assigned projects,
- Passion for innovation and excitement for challenges; and
- A MCIPS qualification or equivalent relevant experience.

Ideally, you will have an understanding of the ICT market, but this is not essential, as well as a working knowledge of Government Procurement Rules and best practice procurement.

DCS leads and enables the wider NZDF Commercial function; including procurement planning, sourcing, contracting, strategic supplier relationship and contract management.
