Our client is seeking a Senior Procurement and Commercial Specialist to join our team, focusing primarily on ICT Procurement. Our client is a large government organisation whose focus is on the well-being of New Zealand. You will be joining a wider team of thirty procurement professionals ranging in experience. This role will give you the chance to gain valuable experience from more senior team members while also guiding junior team members through procurement processes.

**Responsibilities**:

- Manage the procurement lifecycle for ICT goods and services, ensuring compliance with organisational policies and procedures
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to negotiate pricing and contract terms
- Review and analyse procurement data to identify cost-saving opportunities and implement process improvements
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their procurement needs and requirements
- Prepare reports and provide regular updates to management on procurement activities
- Consult, negotiate and deliver on the development and evaluation of the procurement strategies and activities

As this is specialising in the ICT portfolio, experience with this is beneficial and we would like to hear from you. However, our client is very keen on developing their people, and if you bring the right attitude and willingness to learn you can benefit from being in a nurturing environment which allows the space for your growth. Therefore, we’d like to hear from you if you have any experience in the procurement life cycle. This could even exposure to procurement through a project you worked on, even if you weren’t in a procurement specialist role yourself.

**Requirements**:

- A tertiary degree, preferably at Bachelor level or higher
- 3-5 years of experience in procurement or relevant field
- Experience in ICT procurement is preferred but not required.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Familiarity with government procurement policies and regulations
