New Zealand Enrich+ Full time

**About the business**

**About the role**

We require a qualified Early Intervention Specialist - Speech Language Therapist (SLT), preferably with experience in early intervention and family centred practice, to join our trans-disciplinary team, which includes Speech-Language Therapists, Physio and Occupational Therapists, Early Intervention Teachers, a Social Worker, Peer Support Workers/Tuakana, consultant Psychologists and Education Support Workers (ESW).

This is a specialised position which requires a holistic view of early intervention for children with developmental delays or disabilities, and a focus on all areas of child development, family support and advocacy. You will be involved in team assessments, individual and group intervention, often centre-based but also community based, and workshop presentations.

**Benefits and perks**

McKenzie Centre offers a supportive and innovative team environment, a range of professional development opportunities, a competitive salary package, and the ability to make a positive difference in the lives of children with special needs and their families. This is a permanent part-time position of 32 hours per fortnight working Thursdays and Fridays (7.5 hours per day) and every 2nd Wednesday (2 hours).

**Skills and experience**

You will have a recognised qualification in Speech Language Therapy, and be eligible for membership of your professional organisation. At least two years’ experience working alongside people with a disability in a health or education role is preferred. Experience working in Early Intervention or paediatric SLT is highly desirable, and an understanding of the importance of working in partnership with families is crucial. You will also have a current driver’s licence.
