The Opportunity

We are seeking a talented and experienced Risk and Assurance Manager to join our team on 12 months fixed term. This role is based at Fulton Hogan’s Corporate Office in Burnside, Christchurch.

Reporting to the General Manager, Group Risk & Assurance, based in Australia, you will assist in the development and implementation of risk management strategies, policies, and procedures to identify, assess, and mitigate risks across our organisation in New Zealand. You will be a trusted advisor to the business with regards to internal control, risk management and assurance.

In addition to the above, you will:

- Conduct internal audits and reviews, assess control effectiveness, and identify areas for improvement.
- Keep the strategic risk register up to date by working collaborative with various departments.
- Establish and maintain effective internal controls and mitigate risks.
- Report and present relevant findings to the senior management team.
- Stay informed about industry trends, regulations, and emerging risks to proactively develop appropriate actions.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

- A tertiary qualification in a relevant field of study or CA/CPA/CIMA qualification
- Demonstrated experience in risk management, internal audit, or assurance roles in a complex environment.
- Proven knowledge of assessing compliance with standards and procedures, laws, rules, and regulations.
- Strong reporting and presentation skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.

Ideally, you have previous experience w in a similar industry. We are looking for someone who can work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, with exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
