Safety and Risk Management Facilitator

As a Safety and Risk Management Facilitator in the Office of the Chief Medical Officer, you will play a crucial role in supporting and coordinating safety and risk management processes for the Hospital & Specialist Service function. You'll collaborate closely with various components of the Health and Specialty Service function to identify, manage, and report risks. Your expertise will ensure risks are appropriately escalated to senior leadership teams, Clinical Governance, and the Regional Integration Team.
To excel in this role, you'll need to have an efficient, pragmatic, and approachable style. Building productive relationships with people at all levels will be essential, as you translate risk and issues management concepts into language that everyone understands.
Your ability to achieve outcomes, work in a complex and fast-paced environment, and communicate effectively will be paramount. Your expertise in risk management will be crucial in helping Waitaha Canterbury meet the Health & Disability Service Standards and Certification requirements of the Ministry of Health, as well as the AS/NZS ISO 31000:2018 Risk Management Standards.

- Experience leading and engaging with services, the wider organization, and key stakeholders to build trust, common understanding, and shared ownership.
- You will have a strong people capability and process approach to effectively deliver our direction and plans.
- You will play a vital role in supporting and coordinating the safety and risk capture and reporting for the Hospital & Specialist Service function. This includes triaging risks, ensuring accurate articulation and mitigation, and recording risks in the appropriate systems. You'll also provide education and support to departments on risk management processes and the use of the Safety1st system.
**_ Desired Skills and Qualifications:_**
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant field.
- Minimum of three years of experience in Safety and Risk Management systems.
- Experience in policy and procedure writing and development.
- Demonstrated ability to lead or work effectively as part of a team.
- Proven ability to build and maintain business connections.
- Training experience in all aspects of risk management.
- Advanced problem-solving, writing, and data analysis skills.
