Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity
Our Data, Digital and Knowledge Systems Team;
- Help identify, gather, store and report both qualitative and quantitative data, information, stories, audio and video data and other evidence to help measure achievement against Te Aka Whai Ora outcomes.
- Inform policy, strategy, service development, workforce development and commissioning activities and undertake research and evaluation where needed
- Look at mechanisms and tools to gather and share data, and to empower whānau to access their own health data
- Work as part of the wider team to leverage technologies to transform the status of health for Māori via tangible outcomes. We do this directly and indirectly across a diverse range of programmes.
Working alongside the Directors of Data and ICT, you will be a critical member of the Te Aka Whai Ora Data and Digital team supporting its overall Data & Digital work programme. You will be responsible for:
- Ensuring sector solution procurement, design, implementation, operation, and optimisation incorporate the needs of Māori.
- Providing written and verbal advice to leadership, working groups, and workshops ensuing Māori needs, Te Tiriti obligations, market trends and relevant international lessons are applied to your advice.
Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experience
Success in this role will see you bring a good mix of specialist skills and experience such as;
- Degree level tertiary qualification and/or equivalent work experience
- A track record of experience highly relevant to role
- Skills that can be mapped to the SFIA framework
- Experience in leading transformational systems change with respect to implementing Te Tiriti o Waitangi
- Highly developed written and verbal communication skills, particularly the ability to tailor complex messages to a wide range of audiences
- Previous health sector experience in a similar role as is experience of the New Zealand health system (desired)
- Previous experience in human centred design, UX and UI principles (desired).
