**What you’ll be doing**

As a People and Culture Business Partner working for Kmart you will:

- Report to the People & Capability Manager NZ and provide expert and timely advice on day to day issues that arise across our 26 stores.
- Additionally work on strategic initiatives and projects whilst supporting the Store Managers and Zone Managers as a trusted business partner.
- Deliver the People and Capability agenda collaboratively with stakeholders across NZ Stores. You will also lead and manage the delivery of key strategic projects.
- Providing advice on Talent Management, Performance Management, Recruitment, Culture, Change Management, Employee and Industrial Relations.
- Drive leadership and line manager capability and facilitate succession planning across stores.
- Assist with attraction and retention strategies across Stores and Distribution Centres and be involved in proactive workforce planning.
- Manage employee and industrial relations issues, conduct investigations, provide advice in relation to incidents and coach managers to enhance their ability to interpret legislation, EBA’s, policy & procedures, and deal with Non Work Related (NWR) issues
- Lead by example and demonstrate and live Kmart Values (Live Integrity, Take Care, Customer First, Grow Together and Reach Higher)
- Capacity to change own style to adapt to the needs of multiple stakeholders.

**To be successful in this role you’ll have**
- A broad range of people skills and HR knowledge. The key to your success will be your ability to build strong relationships with Store Managers, Zone Managers and the NZ support teams and develop a valuable and trusted partnership with them. Experience in a HR generalist role (ideally with ER/IR exposure)
- Demonstrated skills in leadership, relationship building, communication, negotiation, decision making, influencing and coaching.
- You will be a passionate culture ambassador who influences and coaches team members to model the Kmart values and our desired behaviours whilst working with leaders to create a positive working culture and environment.
- Proven ability to simultaneously manage, deliver and support multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Ability to be flexible as this role involves travel across NZ
