This role is ideal for someone who has hands-on electrical engineering experience or someone with a balance of electrical engineering and software administration. A crucial part of the team, the Transport Monitoring and Asset Specialist works primarily out in the field and works across a variety of different projects such On-Bus Announcements while also working on technology for the betterment of Wellington Public Transport. Additionally, no day is the same in this role with new projects and programs being released frequently.
- Relevant tertiary qualification preferred.
- Key experience in electrical engineering and/or administration.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
- Proactive and collaborative approach to your work.
- Experience in computer-based information systems such as Excel and SQL.

Key responsibilities include:

- Provide Transport and Ticketing Systems Development, Investigations and Advice by:

- On-Bus operations (driver displays, system hardware, ticketing units)
- On-Street operations (RTI Signage, inform signage)
- On-Rail operations (APC counting systems and ticketing units)
- Using reporting portals to provide advice, gain overall visibility of the PT network.
- Managing transport and ticketing UAT systems.
- Working on a range of new projects such as On-Bus Announcements and Train Cameras.

You will work in a hybrid environment, partially in their modern CBD office, partially out in the field, interacting with key stakeholders and customer alike. A collaborative and diverse work environment where they stick together, this role offers a chance to get hands-on experience in an ever-changing environment with new projects and programs being released and upgraded to get your hands dirty.
