We are seeking a Strategic Asset Manager to lead the team responsible for the corporate asset management system and the asset performance functions for the Auckland Transport portfolio of infrastructure and PT Fleet assets (excluding corporate and business technology assets and contracted bus services).
The role is the technical expert and strategic custodian for the performance of the AT asset management functions and is responsible for the continuous improvement of the asset management system against industry benchmarks.
This is a specialist leadership and change management role with significant influence across the Infrastructure and Place Directorate and the broader organization.
**Te Whiwhinga mahi - The Opportunity**
- Planning, designing, reviewing and implementing asset policies, strategies, guidelines and standards across the whole infrastructure and fleet asset lifecycle.
- Developing, implementing and maintaining asset condition, criticality and resilience frameworks, performance monitoring and funding prioritisation plans.
- Leading and managing the team responsible for the development of the asset planning, policy and performance functions, ensuring resources and priorities are clear.
- Mentoring staff to develop the skills and knowledge necessary to deliver the asset management services more effectively.
- Provide thought-leadership, insights and recommendations on improvements to infrastructure outcomes with ELT, portfolio steering groups, project governance groups and elected members
**Ko koe tēnei | About you**
- Honours Degree in engineering and/or management.
- Post Graduate Qualification in Management.
- Chartered Membership of an appropriate professional organisation
- Certificate in Asset Management or equivalent Qualification.
- Programme Management.
- Strategy fundamentals.
- Public engagement / communications.
- Minimum 15 years' experience including management of technical specialists and customer facing teams in highly political environments.
- 10 years leadership and change management across large scale, complex infrastructure businesses.
- Identifying and delivering business improvement initiatives.
