We are now looking for a Payroll and Remuneration Advisor to join our small payroll team, to ensure the timely and accurate processing of payroll for our NZ paid people, provide trusted remuneration advice, as well as to support the delivery of NZTE's people strategy.
**What you'll be doing - Tewhakamahere**
As the Payroll and Remuneration Advisor, you'll play a vital role to ensure that our NZ paid employees, including expats overseas, are paid on time and according to our payroll timetable. You will work alongside another Payroll Advisor to process payroll data in accordance with organisational policy and answer queries from our people. You will also:
- Work alongside the Director People Experience and Remuneration Advisor to determine how changes in interpretation in tax residency may impact our people
- Work alongside the Remuneration Advisor to calculate and manage the payment of PAYE for expatriate expenses through payroll
- Support the implementation of NZTE's global remuneration approach
- Undertake job sizing for roles across the organisation
- Provide remuneration advice and support to Leadership Advisors and People Leaders.
- Have opportunity to get involved in on-going process improvement projects, including identifying improvements in our payroll procedures and systems

**What you'll need to be successful - Ō Pūkenga**
- Previous experience working in a Payroll or Remuneration Advisor role.
- Sound knowledge of payroll processes & systems.
- Keen interest in and/or understanding of remuneration frameworks and methodologies, excellent knowledge of current New Zealand employment and taxation legislation.
- High level numeracy skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to engage with stakeholders, anticipate risks and recommend best options to meet information needs.
- Proven ability to develop trust and credibility with internal stakeholders.
- Strong Microsoft Excel Skills.
- High level of integrity ensuring the confidentiality of our people data.
- Tertiary qualification, preferably in Human Resource Management, or comparable relevant experience is an advantage
- Completion of Job Evaluation training is an advantage.
