The PCO are seeking a creative and motivated Kaiārahi Umanga | Agency Lead to contribute to the kaupapa of open access information and building an accessible digital service for New Zealanders.
This is a pivotal role in our effort to reimagine the access and use of NZ legislation and requires someone who can jump into the mahi and build strong relationships to help deliver a delightful and easy-to-use digital service. Working closely with a new project team, you will build relationships and work with agencies who publish secondary legislation to support adoption of new standards and web specifications.
What we do
At Te Tari Tohutohu Pāremata | Parliamentary Counsel Office (PCO) we work with government agencies to draft and publish legislation for Aotearoa New Zealand. If the Government wants to create, remove or update a law, we draft the Government Bill that gets debated and voted on at Parliament. We then publish the resulting law on the NZ Legislation website. Ultimately, we serve the people of New Zealand by working hard to produce law that is easy to find, use, and understand.
Your role
In this fixed-term position, you will be the kaitiaki of the relationships with the agencies who publish secondary legislation. You will work closely with the agencies involved in the project, being their go-to for questions about the mahi, and be responsible for developing and delivering engaging resources which support these agencies to publish secondary legislation in a way that complies with new guidelines.
You'll create an engagement strategy that keeps stakeholders informed as the project progresses and use your knowledge of website publishing to identify the challenges and opportunities this project will involve for agency websites and the teams that manage them.
