Te Aho o Te Kahu was established in December 2019 to provide national leadership and oversight for cancer control as well as system-wide prioritisation and coordination of cancer care in Aotearoa. The Agency has a key role in driving the system change needed to achieve the ambitious goals set out in the New Zealand Cancer Action Plan 2019-2029
The Office of the Chief Executive leads the delivery of key transition and establishment activity; stakeholder communications and engagement; regional delivery; development of organisational policy, project, financial and commercial management; and ministerial and Chief Executive services.

Ko tōu ake mahi - What You'll Do
We are seeking an exceptional Senior Executive Assistant to join our team. In this influential role, you will support our CEO and Senior Leadership Team, ensuring their focus remains on key priorities and achieving outstanding results. With your meticulous attention to detail, organisational prowess, and commitment to efficiency, you will play a crucial part in our success.
As the trusted partner to our CEO, you will expertly manage their diary, employing forward-thinking strategies to optimise time management. Your keen judgment will be instrumental in handling CEO correspondence, ensuring their attention is directed towards the most crucial outcomes and deliverables.
Your impact extends beyond individual support, as you become a role model, advisor, and mentor to our Administrator team members. Your collaborative approach will foster growth and excellence throughout the agency, inspiring professionalism in all administrative operations.
Your exceptional communication skills will be vital in representing the CEO's interests. You will respond effectively on their behalf to the public, government officials, and other executives, demonstrating your diplomacy and interpersonal finesse. Building strong relationships with internal staff and key stakeholders will be second nature to you.
As an innovative thinker, you will lead the improvement and development of administrative processes and systems within the agency, driving efficiency and effectiveness.

Ko ngā pukenga ōu - What You'll Bring
- Previous experience in a Personal Assistant or Executive Assistant role providing support to a senior executive and their team
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to think ahead, use initiative, establish priorities and meet deadlines whilst preserving the highest levels of accuracy and confidentiality
- Experience exercising discretion and confidentiality with sensitive information
- Advanced skills in the MS Office Suite and familiarity with the Lotus Notes operating system
- Previous successful experience in a government Ministry or other government agency
- Strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to tailor complex messages to a range of audiences
- An understanding of Māori tikanga and kawa and Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
