**Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity**

The role requires a highly skilled and experienced communications leader who is responsible for:

- Media relations and engagement
- Te Whatu Ora online brand through the organisation's social media presence in a highly complex and demanding environment
- Maintaining and growing the organisation's brand and reputation
- Helping New Zealanders understand the story of health service transformation, and growing trust and confidence in where Te Whatu Ora is heading.

**Mou | About you**

Able to oversee the development and execution of comprehensive and innovative media and social media strategies that increase brand awareness and trust in the organisation. Foster proactive relationship management with key media and community organisations, building a solid reputation for being responsive to media, open and transparent.

Build the organisation's community online, increasing the organisation's reach and visibility on social media deliver relevant information to Te Whatu Ora diverse audiences and communities. Work closely with the Creative Services and Campaign Strategies team to help maintain and grow Te Whatu Ora brand identity and reputation. Demonstrates an influencing impact with senior leaders. Maintain a high performing and engaged team that delivers to deadlines.

- Demonstrated and significant experience managing media and social media channels, and services (in the range of 10 years) with proven success with engaging and influencing diverse groups that demonstrates capability for this senior communications leadership role for Te Whatu Ora, along with an understanding of the public sector.
- Demonstrates exceptional relationship building, interpersonal, collaborative, and customer-focused skills and experience, and success in the presentation of materials and ideas to achieve cut through and impact of work developed for an organisation.
- Has creative problem-solving skills, savvy judgment, and confident decision-making skills under pressure. Is highly organised, able to balance multiple assignments and meet deadlines. Able to adapt to a changing environment quickly and easily using analytics, critical thinking, and established networks of contacts to tap expertise.
