**Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity**

The newly created role of Group Manager Construction Sector Relationships will have insights into the capability and capacity of the national construction supply chain and be able to identify strategic opportunities that align with the outcomes and objectives of Te Whatu Ora. You will preferably have strong relationships across the broader construction sector and a sound understanding of the dynamics of the construction sector, locally, regionally and nationally.

**Mōu | About you**

You will engage with central government and other capital-intensive crown agencies in developing best practice approaches, interpreting lessons learned and sharing commercial initiatives

You will oversee the market engagement approachere.es undertaken across the organisation to better understand market capability and capacity, this knowledge will allow you to contribute sector insights at a national level shaping and influencing commercial activities.

You will provide strategic insight into the capability and capacity of the supply chain to identify opportunities that align with Te Whatu Ora Outcomes.

You will lead and manage industry relationships at a strategic level to position Te Whatu Ora as a client of choice, providing a single voice for Te Whatu Ora with the construction sector, on key strategic issues, and - oversee the market engagement approaches undertaken across the regions, to better understand market capability and capacity.

You will engage with central government agencies on current and emerging themes in the construction sector, and - liaise with capital-intensive crown agencies to share knowledge, experiences and best practice approaches including, Broader Outcomes.

**Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experience**

Success in this role will see you bring a good mix of specialist skills and experience not limited to:

- Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in Supply Chain and/or Procurement
- Min 5 years' experience in establishing and/or implementing strategic supplier relationship management frameworks
- Proven record in establishing a team that can work at a national level with the construction sectors supplier relationship managers
- A solid understanding of the construction sector and supply chain
- Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders
- Strong commercial acumen and understanding of what influences the sectors we engage with
- Ability to identify and use sector insights and data to support procurement and commercial activities
- Experience in developing market engagement approaches
- Experience in identifying, and establishing strategic partnerships
- A sound understanding and experience of the end-to-end procurement lifecycle process, the New Zealand Government Procurement Rules and procurement best practice as they relate to construction and infrastructure
