**Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity**

This is your chance to be a trailblazer and make this space your own. We are looking for a risk, audit and assurance expert to lead the national view of risks, issues, audit practices and assurance across the Infrastructure and Investment Group (IIG). Historically, the health sector has worked across >20 entities in managing health infrastructure, including how it manages its risks - and now it's coming together under one strategy, one plan and one organisation.

The mission of the Health New Zealand's IIG is to provide the safe, fit for purpose health facilities, sites and equipment that are essential for a well-functioning health system.

The IIG leads investment by understanding and managing these well, ensuring health facilities, sites, and equipment with the highest need of investment are prioritised and standardising the way these are delivered, maintained, refurbished or redeveloped.

The Group Manager Risk, Audit and Assurance is a senior member of the IIG team, whose mission is to provide safe, fit for purpose health facilities, sites and equipment that are essential for a well-functioning health system.

This role provides strategic leadership across IIG in relation to the development and implementation of risk, audit and assurance frameworks across the programmes, projects, and operations of IIG at a national and regional level. Working as part of the wider IIG, and Office of the Chief Infrastructure and Investment leadership team, they will oversee the delivery of assurance, risk and issue reporting that tracks performance, identifies potential issues and opportunities, and provides relevant support to Regional Heads of Infrastructure, Head of Infrastructure Delivery and the Head of the Office of the Chief Infrastructure and Investment Officer.

**Mōu | About you**

You will be a strategic leadership and coordination responsibilities for risk and issue management, assurance, and audit functions across the IIG, and take ownership of IIG's Risk and Issue Register, ensuring it is updated regularly and reflects changing practices and mitigation strategies and actions.

You will be responsible for arranging and leading any assurance processes and audits, and be responsible for guiding, training and mentoring IIG staff as required.

You will provide leadership and coordination to ensure that the IIG develops overarching assurance strategies and plans to ensure that the right level of assurance is undertaken at the right time across its national and regional functions.

You will be adept at preparing reports and/or presentations for the Health NZ Finance and Audit Committee and being the key IIG link to the Health NZ Chief of Assurance Audit and Risk.

**Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experience**
- Extensive experience in Risk Management and/or Audit in a large organisation (including exposure to ISO and government sector requirements)
- Appropriate tertiary qualification (i.e. any risk/audit/assurance related qualifications an advantage)
- Detailed knowledge and understanding of risk management frameworks, methodologies, and techniques
- Comprehensive understanding of assurance and audit responsibilities for a Crown Entity
- A clear strategic and analytical thinker who can make the connections between the operational, and project and programme activities and implications for risk and issue management at the IIG and organisational level
- Experience preparing reports and/or presentations for risk and audit committees, demonstrating clear strategic and analytical thinking in connecting various aspects of the organisation and implications for risk management
- Understanding of infrastructure life cycle and stage/gate approach to delivering investments
- Proven experience in strategy development and implementation across an organisation
