WBITVP is part of the Warner Bros. International Television group of production companies which currently operate in 15 countries around the world, including Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, Netherlands, New Zealand, Spain, Sweden and UK (“WBITVP Group”).

The Head of Production is a key member of the WBITVP New Zealand's senior management team and will have overall responsibility for all production and business operational matters, including partnering with the Co-Managing Directors to ensure that projects meet their key commercial and editorial objectives whilst shaping and guiding the future growth and development of the Company.

**Primary Purpose of Position**:
This position will design and implement a practical framework from a Production and Operational lens, in both the scripted and non-scripted side of the business, to enable efficient and positive execution of our creative goals, ensuring that we clearly communicate our strategy to employees both permanent and freelance.

**Responsibilities**:
Production responsibilities:

- Ensure the successful planning, execution and delivery of projects on time and budget whilst ensuring productions are sufficiently resourced and supported.
- To prepare, negotiate (in conjunction with MD’s & EP’s) and monitor the implementation of all production model and budgets to ensure that targets are met, revenue is maximized and fixed costs are efficient.
- Support liaising with broadcasters and other external clients to procure the best funding levels possible to ensure the delivery of high-quality output whilst maximizing potential profit.
- Ensure programmes are delivered in line with compliance requirements, including contracting, clearances and internal / external reporting.
- Supervise the Production Executives and Production Managers and work alongside the postproduction teams to provide guidance and motivation to enable maximum performance and ensure that all company policies and legal guidelines are followed.
- Oversight of programme cost reports, and act as the key point of contact with Finance on overall financial status and forecasting in relation to the production slate.
- Key input into the overall financial reporting cycle from a production perspective, and attendance at WB Finance Forecast meetings as required.

Commercial responsibilities:
In conjunction with Legal Affairs;
- Hold Networks/Clients accountable for any commercial breaches or direct impact on IP.
- Support to ensure appropriate controls exist for negotiations with clients/partners on all media funding, other finance, contractual matters and other business and commercial affairs issues.
- Work closely with the Managing Directors, advising on all significant strategic and commercial decisions and ensuring that the company remains aligned to overall business objectives.
- Specific focus on 3rd party revenue driven by formats and securing Digital/Social revenue streams.
- Support in representing the company in negotiations with Networks, suppliers and other key contacts.

In conjunction with commercial relationships Management (FJ);
- Support in identifying commercial opportunities with new and existing brands, formats and programming across media and platforms in order to maximize revenues.
- Support to ensure commercial relationship contracts adhered to

Operational responsibilities:

- Work closely with Finance Head to identify efficiencies and operational efficiencies across both businesses.
- Work with IT on the direction, investment and guidance of staff of optimal IT solutions for the Production environments
- Work closely with Finance Director to control the operational production expenditure of the company including production staffing, postproduction and capital expenditure.
- Maintain research and development in new technology and production approaches to ensure company remains at the forefront of the industry and applies the most cost effective methods and retains its competitive edge by providing leading edge production solutions.
