The Whakapapa whānau are a small but ambitious team, running year-round operations on the northern slopes of Mt Ruapehu. In winter, from June until October, this includes a world-class ski area. In summer, from December until April, this includes our summer sightseeing operation, heroing our iconic Sky Waka gondola. Each year we welcome hundreds of thousands of manuhiri (guests) to Whakapapa, many with life-long connections to the maunga and surrounding rohe, some even third or fourth generation.

Based in the Customer & Growth team, this dynamic role will be responsible for leading marketing strategy, and delivering brand, campaign, and communication activities for Whakapapa. Working collaboratively within a multi-discipline team, and when required, external agency partners, you will play an integral role in designing go-to-market strategies, products, and propositions that meet both guest needs and commercial objectives, including driving brand awareness, engagement, and revenue growth for Whakapapa. Key responsibilities include:

- Lead the creation and execution of marketing campaigns across all platforms, including social and digital
- Identify and execute promotional activations to drive guest engagement and visitation, including activating price promotions, events, and brand building initiatives
- Develop compelling and creative content to tell the story of our brand and effectively communicate our unique offering
- Develop and execute a public relations strategy to build our brand and enhance our reputation
- Utilise analytics to assess marketing effectiveness and inform future decisions
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align marketing goals with broader organisational goals

- You will be a tertiary qualified marketer with at least five years' management experience and a demonstrated track record of success
- Demonstrated experience building brands to connect and resonate with New Zealanders and international visitors to New Zealand
- Project management experience, with the ability to juggle multiple deadlines and expectations
- Excellent attention to detail, with strong time-management skills
- Ability to work collaboratively within the team, wider company, external stakeholders, as well as autonomously
- Strong business, finance, and corporate acumen
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

This is a management role with a salary range between $90,000 - $110,000 per annum depending on experience.
