**He aha te mahi? What’s the role?**:
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Head of In-Market Supply Chain is a senior leadership role within the end-to-end supply team and is responsible for the ownership of the operational performance of the supply chain and delivery activities of Zespri Kiwifruit upon arrival in-market through to the customer.
In the context of a highly seasonal business centered around the variable supply of a perishable product, this role is responsible for working closely with key stakeholders to optimize the Inventory Management practices, Logistics and Warehousing SLAs for Zespri controlled warehouses, Supply Chain IT improvements, People Development and delivery of high
- quality product through to Zespri’ s customers. The Head of In-Market Supply Chain is a critical senior management position in the end-to-end supply chain, overseeing our supply chain and operations from receiving fruit at port in-market through to the distribution of fruit to reach our customers.
Specifically, the position includes a focus on:
- Operational performance in-market - Oversee the effective operations and fruit management practices to give the most optimal fruit quality performance in market and manage 3rd party contracts and performance, to ensure that effective operations and fruit management practices give the most optimal outcome for the delivery of fruit to customers.
- Commercial leadership with supply chain partners - Develop and execute strategic supplier management plans for all key suppliers ensuring effectively functioning processes to avoid costly delays and lost opportunities.
- Reporting and oversight of supply chain performance - Manage budgeting and forecasting of all activities and provide strategic directions for the company.
- Partnering with NZ Supply - Work closely alongside the Head of NZ Supply to optimize and deliver each season with optimal fruit flows and deliveries to manage quality, sales performance, demand, and inventory levels. - Team leadership, development and mentoring - Foster a positive working culture within the team, develop and manage a high-performing and engaged team and lead a global supply chain operations team to create a standardised and systemised supply chain that delivers optimal value for the returns to Zespri growers.
- Supply chain strategy development and deployment - Determine and implement optimal routes to market within the defined strategy, implement and track industry-standard metrics on delivery performance to customers.
- Optimizing service level and cost trade-offs - Support staff to develop and monitor appropriate inventory policies that optimize the trade-off between service level/supply reliability, inventory holding cost, fruit quality impacts and order replenishment cycles.
- Continuous improvement of supply chain processes, metrics and systems - Take a proactively critical approach to driving continuous improvement and standardization of supply chain design and strategy to ensure the In-Market operations network has long term and realistic development plans.
- Stakeholder Management & Relations - Maintain relationships within Zespri and external industry contacts to ensure that broad global and regional supply chain trends are well understood and interpreted in a Zespri context.

We are seeking a strong people leader who thrives on managing Supply Chain Managers who are geographically dispersed. To be successful in this role we are also looking for talented individuals who have:
- 15+ combined years of experience in supply chain operations experience preferred
- Exposure to SAP (Planning, APO, SD Modules)
- Ability to build, discuss, and implement a wide range of topics from business strategy to the tactical execution of the strategy
- Proven leadership and change management skills to build a high performing team in an evolving business environment
- Strong team player who demonstrates strong personal initiative and integrity
- Familiar with cold chain warehousing, cold chain ocean logistics, distribution management.
- Analytic skills partnered with Strategic and logical thinking
- An understanding of FMCG industry (Fresh produce industry preferred)
