This is an exciting opportunity for an allied health professional to support the opening of Building 8b (previously Tupuna) and to support the ongoing provision of a therapeutic programme across the Adult Inpatient Group (AIG).
AIG encompasses our 4 acute inpatient units (Te Awakura) and our 2 extended treatment units, Wāhi Oranga and the soon to open Building 8b (name to be finalised).
This role will initially be based in Building 8b, a 10 bedded unit, that will support Tāngata whaiora who require extended assessment or treatment following an admission to the acute inpatient service prior to discharge. Over time this role will work across all units within AIG.
**Ko wai koe | About You**
In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Supporting the opening of Building 8b by working closely alongside other key leadership positions. This will include recruitment of staff, development of relevant policies and procedures, development of a multi-disciplinary therapeutic programme and liaising with NGO’s and community providers.
- Developing the Kaiāwhina workforce within AIG and providing ongoing support.
- Overseeing and developing the therapeutic programme across AIG to ensure what is offered is contemporary and evidence based including providing education and support to multi-disciplinary team members.
- Liaising with NGO and community agencies to provide support into the therapeutic programme (as appropriate).

Essential:
- A positive, solution focused mindset
- Minimum of a Bachelor degree in the relevant profession
- A current Annual Practicing Certificate with the relevant professional body
- Minimum 5 years of clinical work experience within mental health
- Experience with clinical teaching and supervision
- Experience training and supporting the development of staff (including the Kaiāwhina workforce)
- Experience in facilitating group work
- Experience in leading people and supporting change processes
- Exceptional communication and relationship building skills across all disciplines
- Full drivers license
