He angitūtanga | About the role
In this role, you will report to DOC's Human Resources Advisory Manager, while providing critical support to several directors and their leadership teams. You will work closely with your portfolios directors and managers to understand their business needs and pain points and provide pragmatic advice to enable managers to make the best decisions.
Your portfolio will be varied which could see you supporting operational field delivery teams as well as corporate teams. You will provide support across all HR workstreams including employment relations and performance management, organisational development and workforce planning, capability building and employee engagement, as well as recruitment and remuneration.

If you have the following attributes, we are keen to hear from you:

- You will have experience as an HR Business Partner/ senior advisor or be an advisor ready to step up. You will need to be flexible, adaptable and agile in your HR practices and have extensive experience in providing best practice advice.
- With previous experience within a government agency, you will understand the complexities and be able to navigate various portfolios.
- You will be adept at balancing a varied and demanding workload.
- Ability to provide both strategic advice and hands on support.
- You will be able to quickly earn the trust and confidence of your internal customers, where you foster new thinking and adaptiveness to coach and mentor leaders to respond to changing needs and develop high performing teams.
- A passion for Te Papa Atawhai's Kaupapa is essential.

The salary range for this position is $95,000 to $120,000 with the starting salary of the successful applicant being based on their relevant skills and experience.
Eligibility to work in New Zealand is mandatory - this includes holding a valid work visa that covers the whole period of employment.
