**Te āheinga: The opportunity**

The Access4Success Disability Service is part of the Student Success team. We aim to deliver a person-centred service using a strength-based approach that supports a positive learning experience and provides resources to reduce barriers to learning for a diverse range of ākonga (learners). We partner with ākonga and kaimahi (staff) to facilitate an inclusive, equitable, barrier-free environment.

In this integral frontline role as Access Coordinator, you'll often be the first point of contact for ākonga, providing guidance and advice on available support and resources. Ākonga who use the disability service include those who identify as disabled, neurodivergent, Deaf or live with mental health conditions. This student-facing role requires a genuine belief in the unique and diverse gifts each student brings to Unitec.

**He kōrero mōu: About you**

The Access Coordinator role is central to delivering a responsive and effective service and requires a unique blend of skills and experience. We are keen to hear from people who have personal experience of disability, identify as disabled or neurodivergent or have experience working in the Health & Disability sector.

You'll also have:

- Effective time management, organisational skills, and IT proficiency.
- Relevant experience working in a busy coordination or administrative role.
- Strong interpersonal skills to communicate effectively and empathically with ākonga, kaimahi and external stakeholders.
- An ability to remain calm and reassuring in a pressured and sometimes emotionally charged environment is essential.
