As a
- **Transmission Power Technician**, you'll leverage strong communication skills and keen attention to detail. Reporting to the Technician Group Lead, you'll oversee high-voltage substation projects with a focus on safety and efficiency. Your responsibilities include providing ongoing technical support, planning project scopes, conducting inspections and performing maintenance on crucial assets like protection relays and circuit breakers. Your technical insights will contribute to maintenance and capital project estimations.

- Key responsibilities for the Transmission Power Technician position include, but are not limited to: - Carry out prescribed electrical work according to regulations- Inspecting, fault finding and defect elimination on HV and LV electrical equipment
- Accurate record-keeping and reporting of the works undertaken
- Identify potential issues and provide effective solutions to recover from setbacks
- Conduct job scoping and planning with accuracy
- Assist with repair and maintenance activities and identify potential problems and solutions to recover from any setbacks

**Who we’re looking for?**
Our electrical maintenance team is on a hunt for an Electrical/Power Technician experienced in High Voltage space to join
- them. This role has the option to be based either in Hamilton.
- To be successful in this role, you will also have some of the following skills:
- Experience in high voltage zone substations and proven track record around testing protections devices, maintenance, inspection regime tasks
- Hold a current practising licence along with strong knowledge of relevant Codes of Practice, Policies, Standards, Work procedures
- Demonstrated experience working on 11kV and above transformers, circuit breakers, DC battery systems and SCADA communication assets
- A full and clean NZ class 1 driver’s licence
- Ability to display initiate and willingness to be part of a team
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with basic technology knowledge
