Power Technician

**The role**
Reporting to the Senior Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for providing technical management and delivery of high voltage substation works safely, positively, effectively and efficiently. You will also:
- Provide ongoing technical support, scoping and planning for all works
- Conduct inspections and perform preventative maintenance on strategic assets like protection relays and circuit breakers
- Provide technical input and scoping requirements to assist with the estimation of maintenance and capital works

**Who we’re looking for**
To secure this role, you’ll hold a current practising licence along with strong knowledge of relevant Codes of Practice, Policies, Standards, Work Procedures. You will also have:
- Experience in high voltage zone substations and proven track record around testing protections devices, maintenance, inspection regime tasks
- Demonstrated experience working on 11kV and above transformers, circuit breakers, DC battery systems and SCADA communication assets
- A full and clean NZ class 1 driver’s licence
- Ability to display initiate and willingness to be part of a team
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with basic technology knowledge
