Engineer - Transmission Lines

Join our dynamic team in **Hamilton **and embark on an enriching career as an **Engineer - Transmission Lines**. In this role, you'll take charge of projects throughout the central region, guaranteeing their timely completion within budget while maintaining the highest quality standards. Reporting to the Delivery Manager - Engineering, you'll be responsible for providing construction engineering expertise and technical guidance for Transmission Line maintenance and projects. Additionally, you'll offer on-site support to construction crews, ensuring quality assurance and meticulous documentation for successful project closeout.
- Being an Engineer, you will also be responsible for:_
- Ensuring compliance with client and Northpower technical requirements
- Creating and completing Rigging Loads, material schedules, and construction plans
- Reviewing condition assessments and suggesting maintenance interventions
- Conducting surveys using theodolites
- Assisting with as-built documentation and Quality Assurance
- Providing on-site support to Transmission Line crews
- Conducting hold point and quality assurance inspections
- Offering guidance to ensure works meet standards.

This role requires an individual with a strong mechanical or electrical background. Ideally, you’ll be someone with an understanding of how to deliver projects and would come with previous Engineering experience. Must have a can-do attitude, want to win work, and enjoy the competitive nature of this role.
- Additionally, possessing the following would be beneficial:_
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in the electricity industry, preferably in transmission or distribution
- Proficiency in both office and field work, including site inspection and investigations
- Advanced computer skills, especially in MS Excel
- Experience with theodolite and site surveying is advantageous
- Full clean Class 1 driver’s licence
- Strong interpersonal skills and experience working in a multi-cultural environment
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- A strategic thinker with the ability to solve problems and make decisions
- Proficient computer skills and confident decision-making abilities.
